Leads financial management and governance for capital expenditure projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow control, financial modeling, KPI analysis, procurement oversight, audits, close-out, and vendor negotiations. Partners with CFOs, procurement teams, business units, and project leaders to ensure compliance, cost optimization, value realization, and accurate executive reporting. Responsibilities

1. Capex Financial Management

  • Lead Project and Capex budgeting, financial planning, and controlling for all capex projects.
  • Prepare and review detailed financial projections, Financial KPI IRR/NPV analysis, and sensitivity assessments for capital projects.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project cash flows, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and funding plans.
  • Oversee billing, payouts, milestone-based disbursements, and ensure adherence to financial controls and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate MIS reporting on capex performance, cash flows, and budget variances.
 

2. Procurement & Financial Prudence

  • Establish and enforce financial discipline, governance frameworks, and prudence for all large‑scale capex procurement decisions.
  • Actively participate in procurement decisions for projects above ₹10 crore, jointly with the Technical and Commercial (TC) teams.
  • Review business cases, cost estimates, and commercial terms to ensure value for money and risk mitigation.
  • Provide financial oversight and advisory support for smaller capex projects in consultation with the respective BU.
 

3. Project Oversight & Performance Audit

  • Support Business Units in financial close‑out of capex projects, ensuring timely completion of all financial actions and reports.
  • Conduct post‑implementation and performance audits of capex projects to assess efficiency, cost control, and value realization.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and lead or support commercial and financial negotiations with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure lessons learned from completed projects are institutionalized into future capex governance frameworks.
 

4. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with CFOs, CPOs, Group Finance, and Procurement teams to align capex strategies across business units.
  • Partner with Business Unit Heads and Project Teams to ensure capex objectives are achieved in line with approved financial KPIs.
  • Act as a key finance interface for senior management, providing clear, data‑driven insights on capex performance and risks.
 

5. Reporting, Governance & Accountability

  • Ensure accurate, transparent, and timely reporting of capex financial performance to the CFO, CEO  and CHMO.
  • Maintain high standards of governance, audit readiness, and accountability across all capex‑related financial decisions.
  • Monitor performance against approved financial KPIs and initiate corrective actions where deviations are identified.
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance mechanisms for capex planning, execution, and closure.
Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • 12–16 years of relevant experience in financial management, with strong exposure to: 
    • Large‑scale capex project finance
    • Procurement finance and commercial negotiations
    • Financial controls, audits, and governance
  • Proven experience in managing financial oversight for capex‑intensive industries (infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, logistics, etc.).
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, Presentation.
  • Enabler of automation with group, Power BI, MIS

  • Experience overseeing finance for capex-intensive industries such as infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, or logistics
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management

  • Ability to enable automation with group systems, Power BI, and MIS reporting
