As a member of the Content Business Development / Business Affairs team, you’ll look to both initiate and work closely with various partnership teams to drive new business opportunities across various partner verticals related to Snap’s content businesses.  You will contribute to and influence Snap’s dealmaking and deal strategy related to content, which requires working cross-functionally with Snap’s Legal, Product, Partnerships, Finance, Marketing, Communications, and other teams.  The ideal candidate will be a proficient dealmaker and have a thorough understanding of various content business models.  This requires a strategic perspective as well as the ability to build consensus among leadership and cross-functional stakeholders at Snap.  

What you’ll do:

  • Support and lead dealmaking related to complex commercial transactions in support of Snap’s content business across Media, Creators, Sports and Music—including developing and negotiating “first of their kind” deals in these respective verticals

  • Negotiate the business terms with partners that ensure win-win-win relationships while working with Snap Legal and Finance to execute necessary contracts 

  • Serve as a point of contact, source of guidance, and trusted advisor to various cross-functional teams by providing strategic analysis of and recommendations for building Snap’s various content businesses

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of the various content ecosystems, products and business models across digital, creators, traditional media etc.

  • Thorough understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem and sales models in the digital and social media space as well as other creator and content partner monetization strategies e.g., subscriptions, tipping, etc.

  • Ability to develop new ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Persuasive communicator with established history of influencing change across organizations

  • Network of relationships across the content, media, creator and digital industries including at major talent agencies and management companies

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in business affairs or business development deal-oriented roles focused on content, creators, and content companies

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JD, MBA, or at least 5+ years of direct experience negotiating and leading complex commercial transactions in the digital media or entertainment industry 

  • Entrepreneurial spirit; Self-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $142,000-$214,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$203,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $121,000-$182,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
