Impact
The Reconciliation Lead Analyst is responsible for overseeing end-to-end reconciliation processes across cash clearing, settlements, balance sheet accounts, and General Ledger (GL) accounts. The role involves ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reconciliations, investigating breaks, driving resolution, and leading process improvements. The individual will act as a subject matter expert (SME), support stakeholders, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Key Deliverables
Conduct detailed analysis of reconciliations, investigating and interpreting complex exceptions across systems for high-risk and complex accounts
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on reconciliation breaks and lead resolution efforts to closure
Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation exceptions and discrepancies
Escalate aged, high-risk, or material breaks promptly in line with governance protocols
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead for reconciliation activities within the function
Support team capability development by training and mentoring junior analysts
Ensure all reconciliations are complete, accurate, and delivered within defined SLA timelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and operational issues
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal control policies, and regulatory requirements
Communicate complex reconciliation breaks and status updates to internal stakeholdersand actively track resolution progress
Execute daily and monthly reconciliation tasks including month-end closing and balance sheet certification.
Analyze operational requirements and contribute to enhancement initiatives and project requests
Identify and drive improvement opportunities, including automation and workflow optimization
Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, analysis, and explanations
Liaise effectively with key stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Treasury, and Technology teams
Drive standardization, governance, and best practices across reconciliation processes
Skills and Qualification
Functional Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately
Proven ability to work across multiple business lines, driving process improvements and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
Demonstrated capability to lead and support teams in resolving operational challenges and managing client escalations
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage stakeholders effectively.
High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and thoroughness in all deliverables.
Solid understanding of banking products, regulatory requirements, and operational processes and procedures.
Sound accounting expertise, including preparation of journal entries and assessment of financial impacts.
Ability to develop and implement procedures, provide clear guidance to teams and senior management, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance productivity and achieve organizational objectives.
Strong risk awareness with a proactive control mindset to identify and mitigate potential issues.

Technical Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
7–9 years of reconciliation experience within a financial institution, including month-end account balance certification.
Experience with reconciliation tools such as Black Line is an advantage
Exposure to deposit, payments, and loan operations is preferred.
Experience in deposit, payment and Loan operations is a plus.
Hands-on experience with large ERP systems such as PSGL, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
RPA, AI Project experience is a plus
