Description
Vizance is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to support the organization's financial operations and reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to delivering accurate and timely financial information that supports business decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
- Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
- Analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to provide financial information and support business objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and company information.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- CPA designation or CPA candidate.
- Experience in the insurance, professional services, or financial services industry.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software systems.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
