Yard Manager is responsible for the overall daily organization, material control, equipment management, and logistics of the electrical contractor’s on-site laydown yard. This role ensures that electrical materials (conduit, wire, switchgear, light fixtures, fittings, and pre-fab assemblies) are accurately received, safely staged, securely stored, and efficiently issued to field crews to maintain uninterrupted project workflow. Coordinate daily deliveries and maintain an up-to-date stock of materials.

ResponsibilitiesMaterial tracking: Overseeing the receiving, organizing, and staging of high-value electrical materials like conduits, bulk wire, fittings,etc.
Kitting and staging: Reviewing upcoming project work orders and staging specific "kits" or pallets of materials so field electricians can quickly load up and head to job sites without delays. [1, 2]
Disposal and recycling: Managing scrap copper, wire remnants, and aluminum recycling processes, which are significant revenue recovery streams for electrical contractors.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in cable pulling, construction, or general labor preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or elevated platforms.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and safety equipment.
- Willingness to work in cleanroom environments and follow strict contamination control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
