About the team: Energy, Resources and Infrastructure

G+T’s Energy, Resources and Infrastructure team works on market-leading projects and transactions that shape the Australian energy and resources sector. Our team’s extensive experience across mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy enables us to advise on projects throughout their entire lifecycle - from acquisition and development through to operations and divestment.

Our team in Perth includes highly motivated and ambitious individuals, including partners Michael Blakiston, Claire Boyd, Mark McAleer and Clare Pope who are all recognised as leaders in their field. 

Michael is renowned for his work in Mining and Energy and Natural Resources, both regionally and globally, with recognition as a Foreign Expert for Africa-wide Energy and Natural Resources by Chambers Global 2025. He is also highly regarded for project development and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by IFLR1000 2024.

Claire is ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2025 and Chambers Global 2025 in Mining and is recognised as a Leading Individual for Natural Resources by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2025.

Mark is recognised for his work in Energy, Resources and Infrastructure, advising on complex projects and transactions across Australia and globally. With more than 20 years’ experience, he is highly regarded for his expertise in project development, M&A and foreign investment, and is recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader for Energy (Lexology Client Choice Awards 2025) and a Notable Practitioner for Energy, Mining and Natural Resources (IFLR1000 2025).

Clare is celebrated by Best Lawyers 2025 across multiple areas, including Corporate Law, Energy Law, Mining Law, Natural Resources Law, and Oil and Gas. Together, they offer unparalleled expertise in navigating complex transactions, regulatory matters and project development within the natural resources industry.

About you

You are a driven and collaborative professional with a desire to work on high-profile, complex and high-value transactions. You thrive in a team environment where performance is recognised and rewarded.

In addition, you will have:

  • Five or more years’ post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
  • Deep understanding of mining and oil and gas regulatory frameworks in Australia
  • Outstanding drafting skills
  • A desire, and the capacity, to work on high profile and technically challenging matters
  • Superior analytical, communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clients
