About the team: Energy, Resources and Infrastructure
G+T’s Energy, Resources and Infrastructure team works on market-leading projects and transactions that shape the Australian energy and resources sector. Our team’s extensive experience across mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy enables us to advise on projects throughout their entire lifecycle - from acquisition and development through to operations and divestment.
Our team in Perth includes highly motivated and ambitious individuals, including partners Michael Blakiston, Claire Boyd, Mark McAleer and Clare Pope who are all recognised as leaders in their field.
Michael is renowned for his work in Mining and Energy and Natural Resources, both regionally and globally, with recognition as a Foreign Expert for Africa-wide Energy and Natural Resources by Chambers Global 2025. He is also highly regarded for project development and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by IFLR1000 2024.

With more than 20 years’ experience, he is highly regarded for his expertise in project development, M&A and foreign investment, and is recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader for Energy (Lexology Client Choice Awards 2025) and a Notable Practitioner for Energy, Mining and Natural Resources (IFLR1000 2025).

- Five or more years’ post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
- Deep understanding of mining and oil and gas regulatory frameworks in Australia
- Outstanding drafting skills
- A desire, and the capacity, to work on high profile and technically challenging matters
- Superior analytical, communication and organisation skills
- Ability to work effectively with clients
