Huntsman is seeking a Payroll Analyst – LATAM Region supporting the Global Business Services (GBS) Division located in San José, Costa Rica. This position will report to the America’s Payroll Manager.
Job ScopeWe are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our Global Business Services (GBS) Center in San José, supporting payroll operations for Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia under a Managed Services model. This role reports to the America’s Payroll Manager in Costa Rica.
In summary, as the Payroll Analyst – LATAM Region, you will:Payroll Oversight & Validation: Coordinate and validate payroll inputs and outputs from external vendors, ensuring accuracy in calculations related to social security, income tax, holidays, severance, and other statutory components.
Data Management & Reporting: Prepare and deliver payroll-related data and reports, ensuring timely and compliant processing across all supported countries.
Employee Lifecycle Support: Manage employee lifecycle events (onboarding, transfers, terminations) in collaboration with HR and external vendors, ensuring accurate payroll impact.
Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external payroll audits, liaising between auditors and vendors to ensure documentation and compliance.
Regulatory Knowledge: Adhere to local labor laws and payroll regulations in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico, ensuring corporate policies and legal requirements.
System & Process Optimization: Utilize tools such as Workday and ServiceNow to support payroll processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Candidates must work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our office located in AFZ, Heredia. Additional office days may be required as needed or during corporate visits.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong communication skills in English (B2 level).
- 2+ years of hands‑on payroll experience for Costa Rica, within a multinational or shared services environment. Experience must include:
- Validating statutory payroll calculations
- Reviewing payroll outputs, not only submitting inputs or performing administrative tasks
