DUTIES: Wellmark of South Dakota Inc. seeks a Large Claims Analytics Consultant based out of our office at 1331 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.
Gather, manipulate, and analyze member claims data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for large claims. Perform time-series forecasting and causal inference to support decision-making and strategic planning. Utilize Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, SAS, SQL, and Python to create comprehensive data analyses and visualizations. Develop and implement data engineering and machine learning applications to enhance data processing and analysis capabilities. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data insights. Ensure data integrity and quality by implementing best practices for data collection, storage, and processing. Provide technical support and guidance on data analysis and business intelligence tools. Communicate complex data insights and technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Proactively identify potential risks in data management and propose effective solutions. Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related;
24 months of experience in job offered or related;
Experience must include: Two (2) years of experience with the following: time-series forecasting; causal inference with health claims; Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, SAS, SQL, and Python applications related to data engineering or machine learning; data visualization and formula creation; and business intelligence or analysis platforms.
AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification required.
