Job Summary
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) platform and related platform components, ensuring they effectively meet evolving business needs, perform optimally, and are regularly improved to support strategic objectives and innovation.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the central point of contact for all SAP BDC functionality, ensuring continuous alignment with business strategies and process requirements.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of the SAP BDC system, overseeing scheduled upgrades, patch management, and version control through SAP's Software Update Manager (SUM) or similar tools.
- Partner with other IT teams working on BDC components like Datasphere or SAC to translate requirements into SAP BDC configurations
- Identify and implement SAP Data Products, Insight apps or enhancements to improve user experience and increase productivity, ensuring the BDC platform supports emerging business needs.
- Define and oversee platform solution architecture standards and development guidelines and perform implementation reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Analyze technical as well as data requirements and translate them into functional specifications for implementation in close alignment with enterprise archtecture standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless business solution implementations and integrations with other platforms (e.g., Databricks), ensuring that SAP BDC acts as the central hub for reporting & analytics on SAP data.
- Analyze technical as well as data requirements and translate them into functional specifications for implementation of custom data products
- Manage relationships with SAP and third-party service providers, ensuring that SAP BDC service levels and support or customizations meet technical, business and compliance requirements
- Coordinate with SAP for procurement decisions related to credit consumption, additional licenses, modules, or software that enhance the capabilities of the existing SAP BDC landscape
- Ensure proper change & release management processes on the platform to control deployments Effective user training is in place to provide on-demand learning and support.
- Engage and manage stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment.
- Ensure SAP BDC meets the organization’s security requirements, including securing user roles and access control using SAP Identity Management (IdM) or SAP GRC.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support compliance audits, leveraging SAP's audit logging capabilities and tracking of system changes to ensure data integrity
Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong understanding of SAP related data management and governance principles
- Extensive knowledge of SAP technologies (BDC, SAC, BTP, BW) with a proven track record of successful implementation and integration in the data analytics area
- Understanding of main Technology feature supporting data management and analytic
- Technical leadership role model for delivering of POVs/POCs and to oversee the development of data platform features
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.
- Ability to align SAP BDC data solutions with business objectives and deliver measurable value
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Business Administration, or related business field; (Master’s degree is preferred)
