$18.93 - $31.56Job Description Summary:Assists Technologists in performing a variety of tasks which require a high level of responsibility and sound judgment.
Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities- Assists medical technologists in keeping the laboratory organized.
- Performs assigned administrative and clerical duties associated with the daily operations of the lab.
- Responsible for maintaining records and logs, including but not limited to, Quality Control and temperature logs for lab equipment.
- File and label slides. Keep specimens and files in order and up to date.
- May perform routine laboratory procedures related to preparing samples for analysis.
- Administration of quality assurance (QA) functions including coordination, monitoring, and documentation of quality assurance processes for manager review.
- Carries out specimen discrepancy and rejection processes.
- Responsible for maintaining certain instrumentation with appropriate documentation.
- Assists with inventory and receiving supplies for assigned areas.
- Performs electronic file maintenance.
- Assists with document control processes relating to updates to SOP and master forms.
- Basic reagent preparation.
- Interact with all co-workers, physicians, patients, and others in a positive manner to illustrate the Company as helpful and encouraging to both internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Prepares for and passes the ASCP Exam: Technologist in Cytogenetics after 1 year of laboratory work experience is attained.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular or related field
Experience:
Clinical laboratory setting is preferred, but not required

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
Travel : <25%
Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Occasional overtime may be required, and weekend shifts based on location hours and operational needs.

Skills Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in medical and/or laboratory setting with understanding of medical terminology
- 1-2 years experience with insurance authorization and benefit investigation
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience or ability to use Onco EMR and ApvX for data entry and result uploads
- Ability to perform QA functions: coordination, monitoring, documentation, specimen discrepancy/rejection
- Demonstrated dependability, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday schedule, occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed
- Clinical laboratory setting experience preferred
- Students pursuing BS in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field desirable
