At ALS Food Testing, in Chatteris every sample tells a story and we’re here to make sure that story is one of safety, quality, and trust. Our high-throughput laboratories deliver reliable analytical results for clients across the food industry, helping protect consumers and support global brands.
The Position
Location: Chatteris
Hours Per Week: 40
Shift: Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 16:00
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Annual Salary: £27,180
The Day-to-Day
Perform analytical testing and sample preparation following standard operating procedures.
Accurately record, interpret, and report test results within required timelines.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment to ensure reliable results.
Collaborate with colleagues to manage high sample volumes efficiently and safely.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows.
Uphold quality, safety, and environmental standards across all activities.
The Essentials
A background in chemistry, biology, food science, or a related field (degree or equivalent experience).
Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to tasks.
Comfort working with data, numbers, and analytical instruments.
Ability to focus and perform well under structured or routine processes.
Clear communication skills — written, verbal, or visual — whatever works best for you.
A team mindset with openness to different perspectives, needs, and working styles.
