About This Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and technically driven L1 Fault Management Engineer - Data & IP to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team at Ericsson. In this role, you will be part of a 24x7 global operations environment, responsible for real-time alarm monitoring, first-level fault diagnosis, incident management, and escalation handling across Data and IP network domains including CMTS, XGS-PON, Cisco/Juniper routing & switching infrastructure, and optical access networks.

What You Will Do
Network Monitoring & Alarm Management• Monitor network alarms and events continuously through Network Management Systems (NMS) and OSS platforms on a 24x7 basis• Perform continuous surveillance across:
o CMTS (Cable Modem Termination Systems)
o XGS-PON Network Elements
o Cisco Routers & Switches
o Juniper Routers & Switches
o Optical Access Network Devices• Identify and prioritize service-impacting alarms based on severity and business impact• Perform alarm correlation to eliminate duplicate events and accurately identify root causes
Incident Management• Create, update, and manage incident tickets with accuracy in ITSM/ticketing tools• Ensure detailed documentation of alarm details, timestamps, and troubleshooting findings• Follow defined Incident Management and Escalation Procedures• Coordinate with L2/L3 teams, field engineers, and vendors for timely fault resolution• Track incidents end-to-end through to resolution and closure
First-Level Troubleshooting & Diagnostics• Perform first-level diagnostics for Data & IP network faults• Verify device reachability and connectivity using Telnet, SSH, and PuTTY• Check interface status, alarms, system logs, CPU and memory utilization• Execute predefined troubleshooting procedures and collect relevant logs for L2/L3 escalation• Validate network restoration post fault resolution
Altiplano AMS Operations• Monitor alarms and events through the Altiplano Access Management System (AMS)• Analyze access network faults and service degradation alerts• Perform basic troubleshooting and alarm validation using Altiplano dashboards and reporting tools

Preferred Certifications:• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)• JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Associate)• Networking Fundamentals Certifications
Skills Required
