About the Program:

The NDC Partnership is a global coalition, bringing together more than 260 members, including more than 140 countries, developed and developing, and more than 110 institutions to deliver on ambitious climate action that helps achieve the Paris Agreement and drive sustainable development. Governments identify their NDC implementation priorities and the type of support that is needed to translate them into actionable policies and programs. Based on these requests, the membership offers a tailored package of expertise, technical assistance and funding. This collaborative response provides developing countries with efficient access to a wide range of resources to adapt to and mitigate climate change and foster more equitable and sustainable development.  

The work of the NDC Partnership is facilitated by a Support Unit hosted by WRI in Washington, DC and the UNFCCC secretariat and UNOPS in Bonn, Germany. 

The individual in this position will be part of the Support Unit.

Job Highlight:

As the Knowledge Systems Analyst, you will join the Knowledge and Learning team in the NDC Partnership Support Unit. You will provide technical support for all knowledge systems and tools  (including but not limited to the NDC Partnership’s Resource Library, the NDC Navigator, the Climate Investment Planning and Mobilization Framework (CIPMF) and finance-related tools, SharePoint, the kNook knowledge management system, data dashboard, and the Support Unit’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI)-related tools. This will involve working closely with web developers and other contractors, as well as Support Unit colleagues to guide the maintenance, usage, and enhancements for these systems and tools, ensuring the best possible user experiences for internal and external audiences.

In this position, you will report to the Head of Knowledge Management, and you will work closely with colleagues across the Support Unit.

What will you do

Technical Support for NDC Partnership Knowledge Systems (70%)

  • Work with external web developers and Support Unit content leads to oversee regular maintenance of all knowledge systems and tools, including drafting of terms of references or work orders, management of contractor deliverables, regular monitoring for bugs, coordination across the Support Unit and host organizations as necessary, development and management of processes, and other problem-solving needs as they arise.
  • Collaborate with content leads to scope, plan for and manage enhancements to the various knowledge systems and tools or new build outs.
  • Oversee the management of the NDC Partnership Resource Library, including data input, analytics, and reporting.
  • Support the management of the NDC Partnership’s kNook knowledge management system through regular data input and quality control.
  • Lead the collection of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) data and provide qualitative input for reporting related to knowledge tools.
  • Develop guidance and deliver trainings for the Support Unit’s optimal use of its internal project management tool Monday.com.

·         Artificial Intelligence Integration (20%)

  • Lead scoping efforts and implementation related to the NDC Partnership Support Unit’s adoption of AI technologies, including supporting Support Unit as well as partner user testing and piloting as needed  
  • Support the management of consultants and vendors supporting AI development
  • Support colleagues across work streams to utilize AI technologies, providing guidance and capacity building, including leading formal trainings, as needed
  • Coordinate with relevant NDC Partnership host organization teams to ensure AI applications are compliant with host regulations and policies 

Ad-Hoc Support (10%)

  • Attend internal and external meetings, taking notes, and tracking follow-ups with staff and partners
  • Provide support to events as needed, including by liaising with partners, contributing to concept notes and agendas, developing talking points and presentations, supporting outreach efforts, and providing logistical support.

What You Need

Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant study area

Experience:  

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in website development/management, UX/UI design, artificial intelligence, data analytics or a related field
  • Advanced understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., Claude) and the design and adoption of AI technologies for use by non-technical teams
  • Experience with database management (e.g., MS Excel or similar) and knowledge of best practices for data management
  • Experience with website management and website analytics (e.g., Plausible, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills. An ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects while under deadline pressure.
  • A background in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of and interest in environmental issues, including topics such as climate change, clean energy, food and agriculture, sustainable cities, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience working across cultures and geographies is a definite plus. 

Languages: Fluency in English in written and oral communications is required. French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and/or Arabic language abilities are a plus but not required.

Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.    

Potential Salary:  

US salary range is between 69,000 and 82,000 USD. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
