Job Title: Senior/Lead Knowledge Management Consultant
Job Summary: The Senior Knowledge Management Consultant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the knowledge management strategy within the organization. The role focuses on capturing, organizing, and disseminating key operational insights, industry knowledge, and institutional expertise to improve decision-making, innovation, and customer service. This role will play a pivotal role to ensure Hiscox leverages its collective knowledge to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and competitive advantage in the insurance sector. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to build a knowledge-sharing culture that supports continuous learning and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive knowledge management (KM) strategy aligned with business goals and operational objectives in the insurance industry.
Lead the design and implementation of KM systems, tools, and processes to capture, organize, and share knowledge across the organization.
Foster a knowledge-sharing culture by promoting the use of collaborative technologies and best practices.
Ensure the documentation of critical operational procedures, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Manage the development of a central knowledge repository to support operational excellence, compliance, and customer service.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT, HR, Compliance, and Operations, to ensure that knowledge management initiatives align with business needs.
Analyze the organization's knowledge gaps and identify solutions to address them, including training programs, mentoring, and access to knowledge resources.
Create metrics to measure the effectiveness of KM initiatives, driving continuous improvement in knowledge-sharing practices.
Ensure the proper onboarding of new employees by establishing a system for capturing and sharing onboarding materials.
Collaborate with change management team to drive the adoption of KM initiatives across the organization.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the organization is prepared for emerging trends and compliance requirements.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge Management Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of KM systems and tools (e.g., content management systems, learning management systems, and collaborative platforms).
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the insurance industry, including regulatory requirements, operational procedures, and customer service best practices.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve knowledge-sharing goals.
Process Improvement: Strong focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to optimize knowledge-sharing processes and systems.
Technology Savvy: Familiarity with modern KM software and tools, such as SharePoint, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Project Management: Ability to manage complex projects, including the development and implementation of KM strategies.
Job Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Knowledge Management, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Experience implementing and managing knowledge management systems and processes at a senior level.
Proven success in developing KM strategies that improve business outcomes and employee engagement.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with regulatory compliance in the insurance industry, ensuring that all knowledge assets comply with local, state, and federal laws.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Knowledge Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master’s degree in Knowledge Management, Library Science, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Certifications in Knowledge Management, such as Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), are a plus.

Salary: 110-140k
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly**
