Head of Sales IN PAENYour Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and maintain an effective sales and market strategy for the assigned business area within the specified market scope (global/regional). Your focus will be on improving ABB’s market penetration and achieving sustainable growth aspirations.
On a day-to-day basis, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of the sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets across products, systems, and services. This includes driving sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction.
You will also demonstrate strong leadership capabilities by leading, developing, and coaching the sales organization, including sales managers and sales specialists within scope, fostering a high-performance culture to consistently meet and exceed sales targets.
The work model for this role is #LI - Onsite.
This role contributes to the Automation division within the Energy business area for the India region. Main stakeholders include internal engineering teams, project management, business development, supply chain, and key external customers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Develop and nurture strategic relationships with assigned key accounts, understanding their business needs and objectives.
Manage sales activities and opportunities across direct, third-party, and project sales channels within the account portfolio.
Drive profitable growth through account expansion, market share growth, innovation, and solution-based selling.
Define and track key account performance metrics (revenue, order growth, customer satisfaction, pricing), proactively addressing performance gaps.
Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities with existing customers, supporting contract negotiations and commercial decisions.
Lead customer engagement initiatives, including regular business reviews, satisfaction surveys, and act on feedback to enhance customer experience.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and project management teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Support market presence and competitive positioning through customer advocacy and relationship building
Qualifications for the Role
Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech in Engineering preferred)
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant sales or account management experience in industrial/energy sector
Strong technical knowledge and market understanding of automation and energy solutions
Proficiency in English(Writing & oral)
Strong skills in contract negotiation and commercial analysis
Proficiency in SFDC (CRM) and SAP (ERP) systems
Results-driven mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
