About Aplazo
At Aplazo, our mission is to empower financial access, opportunity and freedom, by connecting people and businesses in Latin America through fair, simple, and transparent financial solutions. We are looking for a Key Account Manager Junior to help us get there.
To be successful in this role, you are expected to demonstrate leadership, collaboration, attention to detail, and dedication to quality. You should be self-motivated, proactive, an excellent communicator, empathetic, and results-driven.
Role's Mission
As a Key Account Manager, our mission is to make our merchants love us, to develop and maintain strong client relationships, drive revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction. The primary goal is to serve as the main point of contact for clients, understand their needs and objectives, and provide tailored solutions to meet those needs working along with main areas in the company, such as sales, marketing, operations and business analytics.
The standard is not activity — it is the outcome at the merchant. A merchant that grows, activates new features, or changes behavior as a direct result of the KAM's involvement: that is the evidence that the role is working.
Key Responsibilities
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned merchants — the relationship, the strategy, and the results belong to the KAM.
Diagnose the lifecycle stage of each account (Ramp-Up, Active, Stable, Risk), align strategy with the Sr KAM, and execute it.
Monitor key metrics on a daily basis; identify relevant variances, growth opportunities, and risk signals.
Prepare and lead monthly Business Reviews with data-backed analysis.
COMMERCIAL EXECUTION
Coordinate and track campaigns and promotions end-to-end; report results with context, not just numbers.
Identify cross-sell and expansion opportunities; escalate to the Sr with a clear value proposition.
Negotiate with merchant operational contacts; build credibility through consistent follow-through.
Implement and track commercial initiatives and marketing campaigns.
STAKEHOLDER INFLUENCE
Identify who holds decision-making authority in each account and understand what drives their priorities.
Arrive at every interaction with a prepared point of view — not just status updates.
Escalate situations that exceed current autonomy level with context and diagnosis, not just the problem.
INTERNAL COORDINATION
Coordinate with Operations, Marketing, and Product to ensure correct execution of account plans.
Be the merchant's voice to internal teams — surface operational friction and drive it to resolution.
Requirements
MUST HAVE
2+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, marketing, or similar commercial roles.
Experience developing commercial circuits: key account relationships, coordination, and results tracking.
