SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Junior Project Engineer position is responsible support of a broad scope of activities in a medical device manufacturing environment. The Junior Engineer will consistently support other engineers efforts related with: efficiencies improvement, improve customer satisfaction, implement cost reductions and equipment/process validations, supplier change requests, etc. 

The Junior Project Engineer is responsible for elaborate and update documentation as well as manage the logistics to ensure the release of appropriate documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with multiple functional groups.
  • Develop, perform and summarize qualification and validation protocols per internal procedures, regulatory expectations, industry standards and product/process requirements.
  • Support other engineers in equipment and product qualification process.
  • Execute and document process characterization studies and designed experiments.
  • Interact cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors and engineers of other departments and receive direction well from superiors.
  • Support other Engineers in investigations related to Validations and the Product Manufacturing Process.
  • Develop and update documentation such as BOM’s, SWI, Procedures, Forms and others.
  • Keep track of documentation stages to ensure its timely release.
  • Change Orders creation.
  • Asses documentation to determine gaps and needs of new documentation.
  • Obtain necessary information to create new documents.
  • Being compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with statutory responsibility under the national or federal regulations such as taking reasonable care of his or her own safety, health and welfare and of any other persons who may be affected by his or her acts or omissions at work.
  • Follow established EHS procedures and policies.
  • Encourage coworkers to follow EHS procedures.
  • Participate in employee engagement activities such as EHS inspections and EHS meetings
  • Report EHS incidents and hazards, assist in root cause analysis as appropriate, and cooperate in finding solutions or implementing improvement.
  • Complete required EHS training.

Roles

  • Require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Stop work in the event of contractors or other employees performing work that may lead to a serious injury or environmental incident.
  • Refuse to carry out an activity that jeopardizes the health of your own or staff and the building or facilities.
  • Refuse to perform operations/activities in which you are not trained or feel that your integrity is at risk.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Student or graduate in Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific field is required.

Experience

No previous experience is required for this position.

Experience Preferred:

Desired a minimum of 1 year experience in a Manufacturing, a Process Development Environment, Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical Plant is a preferred.

Good Manufacturing Practices.

Equipment and Process Validation.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient with MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Project, and Word).
