Leidos is seeking a detail-oriented Junior IT Technical Writer to support documentation and content development across multiple IT systems and services on CASTLE-NET. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of IT concepts and excellent writing skills to translate technical material into clear, user-friendly documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting technical documents, SOPs, user guides, FAQs, and knowledge base content
Work with engineers, developers, and PMs to understand and document system specifications and workflows
Maintain version control and ensure consistency across documentation sets
Conduct basic reviews of content for clarity, grammar, and alignment with style guides
Help support internal communications, training documentation, and process documentation
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and (4)+ years of experience in technical writing or related field; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into readable content
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic publishing tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, WordPress)
Clearance Requirement:
Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred qualifications:
• Prior experience with DoD communication entities
• Prior experience with working with multiple entities simultaneously
• Prior experience with XML/HTML
• Prior experience with developing technical data for DoD programs

Pay Range:Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
