The Junior Systems Administrator assists in maintaining the server and cloud services infrastructure, supporting both University and Magnet school environments. This position manages the end-to-end user lifecycle and secure access protocols, while ensuring the communication platforms and physical security systems (including campus cameras and access controls) remain reliable and secure. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining operational integrity and providing high-quality technical support to our academic community.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

- Performs daily monitoring and ensures availability for all servers and resources.
- Maintains and verifies the backup operations and procedures (Veeam & Exagrid).
- Manage accounts, groups, and organizational units (OUs) within the University and Magnet School environments (Active Directory / Entra ID and Google).
- Assists in maintaining the e-mail environment (O365 & Google), phone system (3CX), access controls (S2), security cameras (Milestone), virtual environments (VMWare & Hyper-V)
- Enroll, profile, and deploy devices via device management solutions.
- Assist in the physical imaging and distribution of hardware to faculty, staff, and students.
- Monitor system logs for unusual activity and assist the Systems Administrator in patching vulnerabilities and updating firmware.
- Provide direct, high-level technical assistance to teachers and staff across the campus to ensure classroom technology remains functional.
- Acts in a Tier 2 and 3 Helpdesk support role as needed, and as a backup to the Tier 1 Helpdesk roles.
