Job Summary: The Junior SQL Developer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and troubleshooting SQL server applications and reports. This position will work under the guidance of the Data Architect to establish best practices and ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of the applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop and test SQL Server applications
  • Develop and maintain reports in the Microsoft BI stack (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
  • Create, troubleshoot, modify, test, document, maintain, and optimize SQL code and stored procedures
  • Maintain reports and application data changes in production and non-production environments
  • Manage multiple assignments and corresponding deadlines, including ad hoc requests
  • Ability to independently analyze, interpret and validate data
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty independently with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to work in a team environment, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Strong data analytics skills are required, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Education and Experience

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft BI stack (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) in SQL Server 2012 and above
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong proficiency of SQL and its variation among databases, especially MS SQL Server and Oracle
  • Must be skilled at developing large, complex SQL statements
  • Working knowledge of network, infrastructure, and security software
  • Experience with Power BI a plus
  • Experience in the insurance or financial industry preferred
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
