Working within a global, cross-functional environment, you will assist Senior Project Managers throughout the full project lifecycle, from project initiation and engineering through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop project management expertise within the renewable energy sector. You will gradually take ownership of smaller projects, system upgrades, and designated work packages while collaborating with engineering, procurement, finance, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time project delivery.

2. Key Responsibilities
  • Support Senior Project Managers in the delivery of utility-scale energy storage projects across all project phases.
  • Maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, risk registers, action logs, and punch lists.
  • Coordinate deliverables across engineering, procurement, logistics, finance, legal, quality, and operational teams.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, and support customer reporting activities.
  • Take ownership of assigned small-scale projects, customer change orders, plant upgrades, and project work packages.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and progress using project management tools and reporting processes.
  • Support budget tracking, invoice reviews, purchase order management, cash flow forecasting, and cost control activities.
  • Assist in identifying and managing project risks, scope changes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Fluence health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits to support construction, testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
  • Partner with contractors, field teams, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues and maintain effective communication.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned activities, and project management best practices.

3. Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in project coordination, project management, engineering, or construction.
  • Experience within renewable energy, power generation, utilities, energy infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Understanding of fundamental project management principles, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or similar planning software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international, and cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites (approximately 25-30%).

4. Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV, wind energy, or high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with construction site activities, commissioning processes, or utility-scale energy projects.
  • Understanding of Irish and/or UK health and safety regulations and construction standards.
  • Experience supporting subcontractor management, contract administration, supplier coordination, or quotation evaluations.
  • Exposure to Primavera P6 or other advanced project scheduling tools.
  • Relevant project management certification or progress toward certification (e.g., PMI CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation, IPMA Level D).
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working in matrixed, remote, or global project environments.
