Junior Legal Counsel
(To be based at Battaramulla)

Key Responsibilities
- To assist and co-ordinate the drafting of all legal documentation required for new projects in consultation with senior legal counsel and company lawyers
- Coordinate with lawyers and company secretaries in order to ensure legal documentation for the incorporation of companies, application for Board of Investment (BOI) approvals
- Actively assist in establishing good corporate governance practices for the MAS group, coordinating and following through on good governance practices
- Provide legal advice to the MAS SBU’s on general employment related issues and current statutory requirements in Sri Lanka
- Educating the business on the fundamentals of Corporate Governance and current policies and procedures in place
Qualifications, Experience, Skill, and Competencies:
- Graduate in LLB & Professional Qualification (Legal Background)
- Must be an Attorney at Law
- 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar work environment desirable.
- Capable of analyzing and thinking conceptually
- Experience in company secretarial work and drafting and reviewing legal documents.
- Knowledge of labor laws preferred
- Good interpersonal relationship skills

- Graduate degree in LLB
- Professional legal qualification
- Admission as an Attorney at Law
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar work environment
- Ability to analyze and think conceptually
- Experience in company secretarial work
- Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents
