Junior Innovation Engineer

Job Description

Fugro’s Innovation teams are responsible for carrying out developments serving both internal users and Fugro’s clients. With innovation centers in Canada, Brazil, the USA, and other key locations worldwide, you will be joining a global innovation group with a tradition of developing best-of-class applications in the Geo-Data space. Our engineers are experts in domains such as spatial data, cloud computing, deep learning, and process automation.

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to develop cloud-hosted geo-data processing automation of remote-sensor data processing. The Junior Innovation Engineer will work with a highly agile team of developers, quality engineers, designers, and product owners to build out a cloud platform that organizes data, extracts features, and presents results to users for editing and quality control.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
• Development and validation of cloud-hosted applications to enhance Fugro’s proprietary automated data analysis and feature extraction services.
• Assisting with test automation, debugging, profiling, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Assisting with configuration of software infrastructure and continuous integration and deployment (GitHub)
• Work with an agile team to build and support cloud-hosted platforms that automate the processing of remote-sensor geo-data, emphasizing data organization, feature extraction, and user-friendly result presentation for quality control and editing.
• Participate in developing and implementing cloud-based software solutions, ensuring high-quality results and improving user experience through collaboration with developers, designers, and product owners.

Job Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s in computer science or 2 or more years of applicable experience.
• Prior experience in object-oriented software development.
• Strong oral and written skills.
• Effective ability to organize and prioritize tasks
• Capability of working in groups and independently; learning new technologies quickly.
• Proficiency in JavaScript web development is preferred.
• Proficiency developing in Microsoft Visual Studio is preferred.
• Proficiency programming in C# is preferred.

• Experience programming or building solutions on AWS is preferred.
• Experience working with relational databases is preferred.
