Leidos Homeland team is seeking a highly motivated Junior Functional Analyst supporting Airports, Borders and Security FBI portfolio. In this role, you will translate business needs into functional requirements for software and IT systems, serving as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will analyze business processes, define system behavior to meet user and operational goals, and collaborate with developers to ensure functional specifications are clearly understood and correctly implemented. The Junior Functional Analyst supports the design, documentation, testing, and implementation of business solutions that align with organizational objectives and technical constraints.
This position is on a future contract pending award announcement.
You must be a US citizen with an active TS security clearance to be considered.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business users to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, workflows, and user stories.
- Support the design and configuration of software solutions in partnership with technical teams.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), including preparation of test cases and scenarios.
- Document system processes, workflows, and data models.
- Provide support during system implementation and post-deployment.
- Identify and assist in resolving process or system issues based on user feedback.
- Prepare functional documentation, business cases, and training materials.
Required Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, or systems implementation.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and requirement-gathering methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with process modeling (e.g., BPMN), database concepts, and agile methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in IT related field preferred.
