We are looking for a Junior Financial Assistant to join our team
GC Solar is looking for a Junior Financial Assistant to support our finance function handling the day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
This is an entry-level role perfect for someone with accounting at school level who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on, real-world environment.
What you will be doing:
Perform basic bookkeeping tasks capturing invoices, payments, and receipts
Assist with reconciliations bank accounts, supplier statements, and credit cards
Process and track supplier invoices and client payments
Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Respond to client inquiries timeously and professionally
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Assist with ad-hoc finance and admin tasks as needed
Requirements
Matric certificate with Accounting as a subject (essential)
A basic understanding of how bookkeeping works
Reliable transport to and from Midrand (essential)
Strong computer knowledge — MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Advanced Excel skills is an advantage
Accounting software knowledge (e.g. Pastel, QuickBooks, or Xero) is an advantage
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Deadline-driven and able to work under pressure
Professional communication skills — dealing with clients via phone and email
A willingness to learn and grow in a finance environment
Advantageous (but not essential):
Previous admin or finance experience
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Pastel, QuickBooks, or Xero)
Experience with reconciliations
