About the job:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Junior Financial Analyst to join Unlimit’s BaaS finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for extracting and analysing data from various Banking and Card Processing systems. Your primary responsibility will be to calculate and provide monthly financial information to our finance department to facilitate accurate invoicing for our BaaS clients.
Key responsibilities:
1. Data Extraction and Consolidation:
- Retrieve and compile data from multiple systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date records of client transactions and activities.
2. Monthly Financial Reporting:
- Calculate monthly client usage metrics and fees based on extracted data.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and summaries for the finance department.
- Assist in the reconciliation of revenue and accounts receivable.
3. Invoicing Support:
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to assist the finance department in issuing invoices to BaaS clients.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve any discrepancies in billing data.
- Support the development and maintenance of billing models and pricing structures.
4. Data Analysis:
- Analyse transaction data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue and client activity.
- Provide insights to management on client profitability and service utilisation.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product, Sales, and Operations teams to understand data flow and business processes.
- Assist in enhancing data extraction methods and reporting tools.
- Participate in meetings to discuss financial findings and recommendations.
6. Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in data handling and reporting processes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline financial operations.
- Assist in automating routine tasks to increase efficiency.
7. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all financial data processing complies with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Stay updated on financial regulations affecting BaaS operations.
8. Risk Management:
- Help identify financial risks related to data handling and invoicing.
- Support the development of strategies to mitigate identified risks.
9. Ad-Hoc Projects:
- Support management with special projects as needed.
- Prepare presentations and analytical reports for internal stakeholders.
- Participate in system implementation projects that impact the finance department.
Your experience and mindset:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or data analysis (including internships).
- Experience with data extraction and reporting is a plus.
Skills:
- Experience in producing data modeling.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau and Power BI)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with core banking systems, payment processing platforms, and CRM systems like Salesforce.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in fintech and knowledge of BaaS operations is a plus.
Certifications (Optional): Pursuing or intending to pursue certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or similar is advantageous.
