Junior Financial Accountant

• Assist with tax compliance, prepare BAS/IAS filings, ensure accurate payment of GST and PAYG, assist with income tax return in collaboration with external advisors, and handle payroll tax matters.

• Assist with business modeling and rollover forecasts. 

• Oversee card expenses, employee disbursements, accruals, and invoice tracking. 

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. 

• Handle superannuation payments.

• Assist the Finance Director and Financial Accountant with process improvements, financial analysis, and various projects, including ad hoc tasks as required

• Manage and oversee accounts payable function.

• Support the external audit process by providing information and addressing audit queries, working with external advisors as needed.

• Work across finance and operations to extract, transform, and analyze large volumes of data. 

• Support the operations team in understanding the backend of the business and assist with client money reconciliation as required by ASIC regulations.

• Currently undergoing CPA/CA Certification or willing to start

• SQL understanding and experience with MySQL will be highly valued

• A background in financial services and FX exposure is preferred but not mandatory.

• A strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and a sense of ownership and accountability.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and key concepts.

• Proactive and process-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Business / Commerce / Finance / Accounting related degree

• Proficiency in MS Office with intermediate/advanced excel skills
