Job Description

The AECOM's Environment business line is looking for a Junior Digital Solutions Software Developer to join our Madrid office and support us during this exciting period of global digital expansion. 

We are committed to collaborating with individuals from any field related to the natural sciences who are passionate about technology and innovation, and who enjoy exploring new paths. We are transforming the present, and we need your support! 

What will it be like to work with us? 

• You will work on national or international projects and clients in cutting-edge projects. 
• Sometimes you meet with clients to listen to their needs or present the work developed based on these. 
• You will participate in our digital initiatives and pilot innovation projects in Cloud computing, applied generative AI, ML, software development, and low code. 
• You may work in small development teams or as single developer, depending on the project. 

Qualifications

We value expertise in web, mobile, or desktop environments and development, as well as in relational and non-relational databases, including data analytics and data science. Proficiency in various programming languages, technologies, methodologies, and experience with diverse frameworks is highly appreciated. 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental disciplines (biology, environmental sciences, any environmental-related engineering) or any engineering, provided that the required knowledge is provided. 
• High Spanish and Intermediate English level is required (spoken and written). 
• Previous experience in database management (SQL/NoSQL programming, PostgreSQL and/or MySQL). 
• Experience and knowledge in web development technologies: Backend and Frontend (full-stack), specially Python, HTML and CSS. 
• Experience and knowledge in Data Science projects, especially if related with Computer Vision, AI assistants and Environment/Biology business cases. Basic dashboarding is also required. 
• Cloud Computing with Azure and/or AWS and repository management with Git (GitHub) 

We will value positively if: 

• Other web development frameworks such us Angular, TypeScript, NodeJS… 
• Q&A knowledge, with focus on test automation (DevOps). 
• Knowledge of process automation solutions (BPMS, RPA). PHP, Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, JQuery, Deployment, Azure DevOps, Git. 
• Knowledge on Microsoft Power Platform, especially in Power Apps and Power Automate. 
• GIS technologies, especially in ArcGIS Online and satellite imagery. 
• IaC (Infrastructure as Code) knowledge. 
• Familiarity with ETL, Deep Learning and/or Computer Vision.  
• Expertise in handling Streamlit, OpenCV, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib and Pandas, and AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or Pytorch is highly appreciated.
