Junior Developer ABAP Kernel (C/C++)

What you'll build

As a junior developer, you will learn from experienced colleagues while gradually taking ownership of core infrastructure components that are essential to the ABAP Platform.

You will be part of the ABAP Kernel Brno team, which is responsible for key infrastructure components and libraries delivered with the ABAP Kernel. These components are required to efficiently operate, monitor, and support the ABAP Platform, including in cloud environments.

In your role, you will:

• Develop and maintain infrastructure components and libraries of the ABAP Kernel, mainly using C/C++
• Contribute to monitoring and observability capabilities for reliable and efficient platform operations
• Analyze issues, fix defects, and support components used in mission-critical customer environments
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in Brno and Walldorf throughout the complete development lifecycle
• Apply agile engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, continuous improvement, and close feedback loops with stakeholders
• Grow your technical expertise in kernel-level development, enterprise software engineering, and the ABAP Platform

This role offers the opportunity to deepen your C/C++ skills, learn about the technical foundation of SAP’s ABAP Platform, and contribute to technology used by customers around the world.

What you bring

Required skills

• University degree in computer science, engineering, natural sciences, or a related field
• Solid programming knowledge in C or C++
• Commitment to software quality and customer satisfaction
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of AI supported development basics as they apply to SAP
• Fluent English (German and Czech is a plus)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ABAP
• Experience with operating systems, distributed systems, monitoring or observability
• First experience with agile software development, testing, or debugging
