Junior Data Engineer – Early Career Program

Are you ready to make a difference as a Junior Data Engineer in a young, ambitious team where your fresh energy and eagerness to learn will have a direct impact on the future of data at Rabobank?

As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll build the foundation for reliable data – the building blocks that power insights across our organisation. Working in a team of around ten colleagues – including data engineers, data translators, a product owner and a scrum master – you’ll make sure data is collected, transformed and modelled so everyone can rely on it.

· You’ll work with cutting-edge tools like Databricks and Data Build Tool (dbt).

· You’ll develop technical skills in SQL, DAX and Python.

· You’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn and grow: every Friday is dedicated to the Early Career Programme, with training focused on both technical and soft skills.

You’ll work in a hybrid setting from Utrecht and join a dynamic environment where innovation and collaboration are key. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to invest in your future and work with the latest technologies.

During this program at Rabobank, you will work on your career by immediately joining a permanent team, where you will dedicate one day a week to training and development. After completing the program, you will be fully trained as a Data Engineer and can continue to grow within the organisation. You will build a valuable network, gain experience with a variety of data projects, and develop skills that will benefit you throughout your career.

· Work in a team of approximately 10 colleagues within a central data team of Retail NL

· Focus on building data building blocks and innovative solutions for a variety of internal clients

· Direct impact on Rabobank’s data-driven future

· Collaborate with team members to deliver actionable insights and reporting solutions.

· Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data flow

· Continuously learn and enhance proficiency in data engineering and BI tools used within the organization

· Start date: The program starts at April 1st, but it is possible to start working with us as soon as possible

· Hours per week: 40 – 4 days of working, 1 day of trainings

· Location: Utrecht, Croeselaan 18

· Contract: fixed term, scale 7

In the first 18 months, you will follow training courses directly related to your specialism and talent development. You will work with experienced colleagues and other young professionals on various cases and challenges. You will have the freedom to learn by doing, making mistakes, and celebrating successes.

· You have completed a masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Software Engineering, ICT or a similar field 0 to 2 years of work experience

· You have experience in using SQL. Python and DAX is a pré

· You want to get better every day (eager to improve)
