Machine learning algorithms thrive on data, but they can’t learn unless humans first show them what’s what. By labeling and classifying data with precision, our Data Annotation team plays a vital role in helping our technology learn to see the world. Without them, our AI-powered products wouldn’t be able to deliver the reliable performance our users count on.

The goal of the Data Annotation team is simple yet critical: ensure the highest possible quality and efficiency in preparing training data for neural networks - laying the groundwork for smarter, more accurate Microblink products. At Microblink, everything starts in the Data Annotation team, which has over 50 members and is our largest team.

We create unique products and tools with the desire to make the future digital identity world a secure ‘no-fake-zone’. Our teams in the US and Europe, with main offices in New York and Zagreb, touch hundreds of millions of people every year, processing over 800M identity documents in more than 70 countries around the world.

Here’s what you’ll do

• Label/annotate collected data (such as logo, barcode, numbers, letters, etc.) on different types of documents using our special software
• Support efficiency and accuracy in annotation processes through quality checks
• Analyze and classify documents from all around the world
• Recognize and analyze visual artifacts and distortions in images
• Create, track, and manage annotation projects
• Work on various initiatives that enhance our awesome AI models and products
• Support onboarding and training programs for Data Annotators
• Provide guidance on best practices and annotation standards
• Assist in assessing Data Annotators performance

For this position, no previous technical knowledge is needed! What you do need is curiosity, attention to detail, and a readiness to learn. We’ll teach you everything else.

You'll be successful in this role if you…

• Are reliable, attentive, and responsible in your work
• Have a systematic approach to problems and an eye for detail
• Have good organizational skills
• You are inquisitive, driven to learn new things and are passionate about technology
• Have a basic knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
• Have excellent English language skills
• It’s a plus if you have some experience with annotation jobs before
