Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Data Analyst to join our private debt operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing communications, analysing company fundamental and reference data, and ensuring the accurate and timely entry of information into our systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a solid grasp of financial data, and a strong desire to thrive in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Company Fundamentals Analysis: Review, validate, and interpret financial statements, performance metrics, and other key company data to ensure alignment with internal guidelines.
- Reference Data Analysis: Assist our Security Master Team in gathering, verifying, and updating borrower and facility reference data.
- Database Management: Upload and maintain company and private debt information in the internal database, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Data Quality Assurance: Identify and rectify discrepancies in financial or operational data, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure data integrity.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate and distribute team KPIs, team updates and process documentation.
- Inbox Management: Act as the first point of contact for team communications, prioritising and organising emails.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- University Degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in Private markets, particularly private debt, is an advantage.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, finance, or investment operations.
- Strong understanding of companies balance sheet and income statement including key metrics such as EBITDA, leverage ratios, and debt covenants is a plus.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data validation and financial modelling. Familiarity with database tools is an advantage.
- Keen attention to detail and a structured approach to data review and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of corporate financial performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial concepts effectively.
- An interest in private debt markets and a willingness to expand knowledge in this area.
