As a Junior CPU Verification Engineer, you will work alongside experienced architects, designers, and verification engineers to ensure the quality, functionality, and performance of Intel's future CPU products.

The Role

As a CPU Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying complex processor designs before they reach silicon. You will develop verification environments, create test plans, debug failures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Intel CPUs meet functional, performance, power, and quality objectives.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Performs functional verification of CPU logic to ensure design will meet specification requirements.
  • Develops IP verification plans, test benches, and the verification environment to ensure coverage to confirm to CPU microarchitecture specifications.
  • Executes verification plans and defines and runs system simulation models to verify the design, analyze power and timing, and uncover bugs.
  • Replicates, root causes, and debugs issues in the presilicon environment.
  • Finds and implements corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborates with CPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to improve verification of complex architectural and microarchitectural features and to meet functional, performance, and power goals.
  • Documents test plans and drive technical reviews of plans and proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintains and improves existing functional verification infrastructure and methodology.
  • Participates in the definition of architecture and microarchitecture features of the CPU being designed actively.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree Electrical/Computer engineering or any related field with 3+ months of educational or work experience in the following:

  • Experience in digital logic design, including instruction set execution, ALUs, control units, registers, memory, and system buses.
  • Experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, or Tcl), C++, and System Verilog.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Use of AI agents in your projects, college classes, or software development.
  • Experience with RTL development.
  • Proficiency with C/C++, System Verilog coding and debug.
  • Knowledge and experience with x86 or any other computer architectures.
  • ASM skills.
  • Familiarity with version control software (GIT).
  • Experience with Synopsys simulators.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $91,150.00-149,150.00 USD

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role
