KeyBank is looking to add a junior copywriter to the team who will put our brand voice into action in clear, compelling ways while leaving no detail behind.

This role is primarily responsible for writing, editing, and making SEO updates to financial content on key.com. There will be other creative writing projects and opportunities assigned as capacity allows. For every project, you’ll use your ability to present ideas in a clear, natural content hierarchy and your knowledge of Key’s brand tone and voice.

The writer we hire will provide brand and subject matter expertise and work collaboratively with marketing managers, project coordinators, and designers to meet all deadlines. This individual will also have a passion for assuring clients at every touchpoint that they made the right choice in choosing and staying with Key.

Required Qualifications:

· Degree in marketing, journalism, communications, advertising, or equivalent

· 2-3+ years of experience writing for the financial/banking industry is preferred

· Portfolio that shows a range of digital content

· Basic understanding of SEO, including ability to incorporate targeted phrases and keywords, strategic use of headings to elevate content, and other SEO best practices

· Basic understanding of web design and UX writing principles

· Proofreading experience is a plus

· Experience using technologies, including Word, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and web-based work and project management systems

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $55,000 to $6,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance. Key has implemented a role-based Mobile by Design approach to our employee workspaces, dedicating space to those whose roles require specific workspaces, while providing flexible options for roles which are less dependent on assigned workspaces and can be performed effectively in a mobile environment. As a result, this role may be Mobile or Home-based, which means you may work primarily either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.
