The Contract Associate team for The Hartford’s global procurement team is responsible for supporting the end–to-end contracting activities in accordance with the category strategies set by the Category Manager. Reporting to the Director, Contracting Operations, the Contract Associate is accountable for executing low complexity procurement activities including contract and related activities (i.e. approvals and input into the contracting database). This role is critical to ensuring high quality contracts are delivered in a timely manner.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Timely draft, review and execute low complexity contracting activities
- Strong operational mind-set with ability to manage and prioritize a large volume of contracts
- Engagement with customers and provide an excellent customer experience (both business requesters and Sourcing organization)
- Effectively manage contracting inventory in the procurement source to pay system, ensuring quality metadata
- Ensure data accuracy and process adherence through the Procurement lifecycle
- Ability to process a high volume of low complexity contracts such as speaker agreements and hotel agreements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
- Must be able to handle a high volume of work with defined timelines
- Ability to review, analyze and draft contracts
- Ability to work within an agile team environment
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, drafting and negotiating contract terms
- Strong focus on customer engagement and service
- Positive can-do attitude and takes ownership of work
- Self motivated and able to work within an agile & collaborative environment
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and procurement tools
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$60,000 - $90,000
