The Opportunity:

CACI is currently seeking a Junior Business and Financial Operations Specialist in support of a program whose initiative is aimed at combating evolving and emerging threats, supporting related exploitation and replication activities, and advancing operational rehearsal, exercise, wargaming, and counter system development. Additionally, we are focusing on integration and experimentation, including Modeling and Simulation.

Your work will help ensure Warfighter readiness and the realization of future capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to support mission-critical Department of Defense programs while developing expertise in government contracting, procurement, and budget operations.

Responsibilities:

Financial & Budget Support:

  • Input funding data into government accounting systems and ensure accuracy of financial data

  • Monitor project "burn rates" by comparing invoices against funded amounts

  • Assist in the preparation of budget folders and financial briefing slides

  • Organize financial records and supporting documentation for audits

  • Track project milestones, funding burn rates, and resource allocation

  • Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) procedures and regulations

Procurement & Purchasing Support:

  • Provide support for the acquisition of supplies, services, and equipment by performing routine administrative and research tasks

  • Assist in the execution of simple, low-dollar procurement actions

  • Gather market research data and historical spending data

  • Format and draft basic purchase requests and procurement documents

  • Ensure all purchases adhere to FAR and local unit policies

Business Operations Support:

  • Provide basic input for financial and logistical data into systems of record

  • Format and draft basic memos, purchase requests, and status updates

  • Maintain program files, track "taskers," and update project schedules

  • Schedule meetings and maintain program documentation

  • Verify alignment with FAR requirements across all financial operations

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Analyze budgeting and accounting reports

  • Support preparation of progress reports and management briefings

  • Assist with cost performance management system updates

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, mathematics, statistic, operations research, statistics, economics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.

  • 3 years relevant experience

  • 5 years relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Basic understanding of financial and business operations principles

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

  • Experience with government financial systems (e.g., eCRAFT, WAWF)

  • Understanding of DoD budget cycles and appropriations

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$48,300-$96,600
