The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Junior Business Analyst to work in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the DPAS mission. DPAS is the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) for over 50 DoD agencies and Military Services.
We are looking for a candidate that has excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational, customer service, data analysis, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills. The candidate should be very detail-oriented and accustomed to working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a willingness to research, learn, and apply new concepts and technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gathers and interprets facts, diagnoses problems, and uses information to recommend improvements and potential process efficiency gains in an enterprise, web-based application.
- Interfaces with system sponsors, users, and other stakeholders for the purpose of identifying and documenting high-level, functional, business process requirements.
- Performs functional and integration testing of approved system changes and defect fixes.
- Assists with in-person and web-based training of users on specific processes and capabilities in the system, as necessary.
- Updates system training curriculum, as needed.
- Assist the Help Desk with problem and incident management.
- Functions as a customer advocate for new, prospective users in the system. Includes assisting new users in building a validated data package that is then loaded into the system.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and under 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience, training, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- US Citizen; Currently possessing or ability to successfully obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance upon hire.
- Working knowledge of Windows based Desktop/Laptop Computers. Experience with Microsoft Office products to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated critical skills such as collaboration, strong written and verbal communication skills and analytical capability. Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Ability to be flexible and work hard, in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and Agile software development processes and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Business Analyst fundamentals
- Familiarity with military/government terminology
