About the role

We are looking for a Junior Billing Data Analyst to support our Billing and Support team with reliable analytics, data checks, and insights. You will help monitor billing performance, identify unusual patterns, assist with reporting, and contribute to risk-related analyses.

This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational SQL skills, curiosity about billing metrics, and a desire to grow into a full Billing Data Analyst. You will learn how billing systems behave, how disputes and fraud patterns emerge, and how data drives financial decisions across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor core billing metrics such as disputes, chargebacks, dunning performance, refunds, and transaction quality.

  • Prepare recurring reports and dashboards used by Billing, Support, Finance, and Product teams.

  • Help maintain data pipelines by checking data freshness, completeness, and correctness.

  • Assist in running A/B tests related to billing strategies, risk settings, and retry logic.

  • Support senior analysts in analyzing disputes, fraud, VAMP transactions, and anomalies in billing flows.

  • Investigate unusual patterns in financial data and escalate issues when needed.

  • Document findings, queries, and logic in a clear and structured way.

  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and support specialists to ensure consistent and reliable billing data.

Qualifications
  • Basic SQL skills and willingness to improve quickly.

  • Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or basic BI tools (Tableau is a plus).

  • Understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and interest in learning more.

  • Curiosity about billing processes, payment systems, and financial risk.

  • Ability to clean, validate, and analyze datasets with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Organized, disciplined, and able to follow established analytical processes.

  • Motivated to learn.

Nice to have
  • Experience with BigQuery, ClickHouse, or any cloud data warehouse.

  • Basic Python knowledge for data cleaning or simple analysis.

  • Exposure to subscription businesses or payment systems.

  • Understanding of disputes, chargebacks, declines, or fraud signals.

  • Familiarity with DBT or data quality frameworks.

Location

Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
