What is a day in the life of an Junior AR/AP Specialist?
- Manage delegated emails
- Review and process bills
- Proactively review aged AR ledgers and follow up for payments
- Assist in AR / AP month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliation
- Review credit card statements and make sure transactions are coded correctly
- Record auto payments and attach needed documents
- Review vendor statements and request missing invoices
- Review expense reports for incorrect or missing information
- Set up payments
- Create vendors or customers
- Apply vendor credits to vendor bills and communicate the application to the vendor
- Apply zero-dollar payments
- Reach out to customers about past-due invoices
- Review software for sync issues, fix these when possible
What will I need to thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting
- 1 – 3 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable knowledge and closing process
- Knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel
- Attention to detail
- Teachable/willingness to learn
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently

- 60 Days - You’ll fully understand the invoicing process and feel confident in owning the brand partner relationships
- 90 Days - You’ll feel ready to contribute ideas to improve processes, increase efficiency, and operate comfortably within NetSuite and other systems

- You will work with the other Accounting Specialists and AR/AP clerks and be supervised by the Leader.
