Exciting Opportunity for a Junior AI & Documentation Developer at Akselos!
Akselos is a fast-growing digital technology company delivering Structural Performance Management (SPM) to the world’s most critical energy and industrial assets. Headquartered in Europe with operations in real-time operational data to help operators run safer, more reliable, and more efficient facilities. Our technology allows customers to understand true structural behavior, prevent failures, extend asset life, and unlock higher throughput across Refining, Petrochemicals, and offshore oil & Gas.
Position Summary:
The Junior AI & Documentation Developer makes AI coding assistants reliably effective for the whole engineering organisation, and improves the documentation and in-code context that both engineers and AI assistants depend on. The role exists because AI customisations are currently built privately by individual engineers, in inconsistent styles, and do not compose into a coherent ecosystem of tools and agents. The position consolidates and standardises this work, supports all stakeholders in building their own, and develops new skills, agents and commands for the main software repository. It is a hybrid engineering and technical-writing role: value is measured by how much faster, more consistently and more confidently the rest of the organisation works, rather than by code volume.
Location: Vietnam
Responsibilities:
- Stewardship and standardisation of the internal AI tooling ecosystem: acting as the central point of
contact for colleagues who build their own AI customisations, and turning scattered private work into a
shared, coherent and maintained ecosystem. - Independent development of AI tooling for the main software repository: designing and
implementing new skills, agents, subagents and commands targeting the workflows with the greatest leverage. - Context and documentation quality: improving the in-code context and written documentation that
both human engineers and AI assistants rely on, and raising overall consistency and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or a Bachelor's degree in any field combined with demonstrated ability.
- 0-2 years of professional experience; strong graduates are welcome. Demonstrable practical experience customising an agentic coding assistant is required.
- Working knowledge of Python — able to read unfamiliar code, navigate a large codebase and write clean, well-scoped tools; practical experience with an agentic coding assistant and its ecosystem; sound practical understanding of how large language models work, including context prompting, tool use and characteristic failure modes; version control and standard code-review workflow; comfort in a terminal-centred Linux environment; Markdown and structured writing.
- Excellent written English with a strong sense for structure, clarity and the reader's perspective; logical, systematic thinking and the ability to specify a process precisely enough for both a person and a machine to follow; rigour, attention to detail and the habit of verifying rather than assuming; proactivity, reliability and self-management; strong collaboration skills across teams and seniority levels, including the ability to influence practice without formal authority; receptiveness to feedback and the ability to give it constructively; clarifies a problem before starting and decomposes work into small, verifiable steps; genuine and current interest in AI developments; comfort with ambiguity and with creating structure where none exists; patience and empathy when supporting colleagues of varying technical backgrounds, including non-developers.
- Willingness to take on unglamorous but high-value maintenance work: consistency passes, cleanups, migrations and deprecations; sound judgement regarding confidentiality and the appropriate use of AI tooling on proprietary material; availability for regular collaboration with colleagues in other offices; ability and willingness to learn the company's development procedures and the engineering simulation workflow to the depth needed to recognise where AI tooling adds value.
Nice to have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field; Technical writing coursework or certification.
- Prior work in technical writing, developer experience, developer relations or internal enablement; experience running workshops, training or knowledge-sharing sessions; exposure to several AI assistants and the ability to compare them fairly.
- Familiarity with Claude Code specifically, including skills, subagents, commands, hooks and MCP servers; experience with a documentation generator and docs-as-code publishing pipeline; ability to build small internal tooling, CI checks or linting rules that enforce standards automatically; reading-level familiarity with other languages in a mixed codebase (C++, Rust, TypeScript, QML).
- Interest in engineering simulation and numerical software
Benefits:
- Competitive salary package including a 13-month salary.
- Performance-based bonuses.
- Full package of social and health insurance.
- Comprehensive advanced health insurance for you and your family.
- Annual premium medical check-ups at international hospitals.
- Parking subsidy together with free coffee in the office.
- Extra leave types: family care, bereavement, wedding, religious leaves, and more.
- Exciting employee engagement activities: company trips, team building, football, and badminton matches.
- Plenty of learning and development opportunities, including sponsorship for a second bachelor’s or master’s degree, if qualified.
- A young and dynamic work environment with a supportive and collaborative team where you could learn and grow.
