The Work You’ll DoAs a Junior Accountant based in Mumbai, you will join a high-performing finance team supporting a newly acquired Sovos entity in India. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to build a global career in a leading SaaS organization.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement - while working with modern ERP systems and collaborating with cross-functional global teams.
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will include:

Prepare and post standard journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications, in accordance with the close calendar

Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve open items under the guidance of senior accountants

Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers for assigned accounts

Ensure close tasks are completed accurately and on time, escalating issues to the Senior Accountant or Senior Manager as needed

Participate actively in team meetings, process improvement discussions, and training sessions

Build familiarity with the company’s ERP system and close management tools

Participate in the global consolidated audit and statutory audits, including the India entity, as needed
What we're looking for:

1 to 3 years of accounting experience; prior internship or experience in a GL or close function is a plus

Qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification is a plus

Foundational understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP or IFRS) and the general ledger close process

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks

Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced, global accounting environment

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Exposure to an ERP system (NetSuite preferred) is a plus

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
