Who we are looking for:
The Junior Accountant will play a key role in managing accounts payable, maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, and supporting month-end close processes within the omnichannel marketing space. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in NetSuite and will demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented individual looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
- Process and record vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to the general ledger.
- Research and resolve discrepancies within the invoices.
- Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Address and resolve vendor inquiries or payment issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording daily transactions in the general ledger.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate transaction recording.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for month-end reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed.
- Leverage advanced Excel skills to create and maintain spreadsheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas.
- Ensure all financial processes comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in AP, bookkeeping, and month-end close activities.
- Work closely with other finance team members to support overall financial operations.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and financial statement support compilation as required by management.
- Provide backup support to other accounting functions during peak periods or absences
Who you are:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, bookkeeping, and month-end close.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as Monarch, Great Plains, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the omnichannel marketing industry preferred.
- Familiarity with general ledger functions and financial reporting preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles preferred.
