We’re looking for a Junior YouTube Strategist / Trend Researcher who lives and breathes gaming culture, YouTube trends, and online storytelling, someone who keeps their finger on the pulse of what’s trending, what creators are doing, and what ideas are gaining traction online. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, highly online, and passionate about helping shape content seen by millions of viewers every month. 

About the Job

The Junior YouTube Strategist / Trend Researcher will play a key role in helping shape the future of our content strategy. This position is for someone who understands internet culture, gaming communities, YouTube storytelling, and youth-focused trends, especially within Minecraft, Roblox, Steam, and kid/teen gaming culture. We’re looking for someone who can identify emerging trends early and help transform them into engaging, high-performing video concepts. 

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where creativity, adaptability, and trend awareness are essential. The right person is curious, proactive, and constantly plugged into online culture, creators, memes, games, and audience behavior. You’ll work closely with our creative teams to help develop both trend-driven and evergreen content while contributing ideas that continue to grow and evolve some of the largest gaming entertainment brands on YouTube.

What You'll Do

  • Research and stay ahead of gaming, YouTube, TikTok, and internet trends relevant to our target demographic
  • Identify trending topics, viral formats, and story ideas within Minecraft, Roblox, Steam, and youth gaming culture
  • Collaborate with strategists and creatives to pitch engaging video concepts across our channels
  • Analyze YouTube performance metrics and audience behavior to help optimize content strategy
  • Research competitors, creators, and high-performing content to identify opportunities and patterns
  • Help develop both trend-driven and evergreen content strategies
  • Conduct keyword and title research to improve discoverability and CTR
  • Source compelling thumbnail inspiration and visual references that align with our brand identity 
  • Track emerging Roblox experiences, Steam games, and online trends that could inspire future content
  • Contribute actively during brainstorming and ideation sessions
  • Use data and audience insights to help inform creative decisions
  • Adapt quickly to feedback and collaborate on refining concepts and ideas

What We're Looking For

  • Deep knowledge of Minecraft, Roblox, YouTube creators, gaming culture, memes, and internet trends
  • Strong understanding of what younger audiences are currently interested in online
  • Passion for YouTube storytelling and gameplay-driven content
  • Creative thinker with strong instincts for viral or highly engaging ideas
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and iterate on ideas rapidly
  • Strong awareness of influencer and creator ecosystems
  • Willingness to learn internal creative and research workflows
  • Must be based in the Austin, TX area or willing to relocate

Nice To Have

  • Experience using YouTube Studio and analytics tools
  • 1+ years experience researching YouTube trends, social media trends, or gaming content
  • Experience with Minecraft, Roblox, or gameplay-based storytelling content
  • Understanding of youth-oriented entertainment and digital media trends
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Shorts, and viral content ecosystems
  • Familiarity with YouTube thumbnails, titles, packaging, and audience psychology
