Job title: Jr Project Manager
Location: Newark, NJ
Job summary:
Jr. Project Manager to support our team in delivering impactful projects. In this role, you’ll assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project tasks while gaining hands-on experience and oversee projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position’s primary tasks will include data collection, progress tracking, communications and collaboration support as well as maintaining project documentation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in defining project goals, scope, and timelines in alignment with company and client driven objectives.
- Support the creation, maintenance and timely updates of project plans, schedules, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tasks are on track.
- Assist in the building of client and IT relationships during project interactions.
- Monitor project progress and report updates to senior team members.
- Identify and proactively report and address potential risks or issues, including the initial development of mitigation strategies.
- Support the development of project budgets as well as proactive identification of cost overruns.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and organized.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planview)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field
- Preferred to have PMP Certification with a minimum of 2 years of work experience (or PMBOK trained with an objective to PMP certification and 4 years of work experience)
