Job Description
Project/SOW: STI-TFW-2304-2312-Addndm-BI-DataEngineer
Type: Replacement for Raviteja Reddy Guvvala
Verizon Manager: Michael Bonilla.
Designation: Jr DB2 Database Administrator
Budget: 6-10 LPA
Experience: 3+ years.

L2 Interview Panel: Claudia and Micheal Bonilla (client)
Role: Jr. DB2 DBA Location: OFFshore
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementation of single and multi-partition db2 databases. Leverage of the DPF (Data Partition Feature) for parallel running at the OS level.
- Monitoring of db2 databases from the IBM DMC console and from the OS level.
- Maintenance on the database (reorg, runstats)
- Design and Implementation of DR and HA solutions
- Backup and restore (online/offline) db2 databases
- Create comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Database Upgrade and Patching
- Write Unix Script to automate the process
- DB2 Database Migration from on-prem AIX to AWS EC2 RHEL including 100TB+ DB2 Data Warehouse – work with IBM support team
- Installation, Configuration and maintenance of DB2 database on AWS EC2 RHEL.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience on production DB2 database management
- Knowledge on cross platform migration including from on-prem AIX db2 PDOA system to AWS IBM DW system.
- Knowledge of the implementation and usage of the DB2 IBM DPF to leverage parallel processing across partitioned db2 nodes.
- Skills on database and queries performance monitoring and tuning
- Knowledge of Hadoop or/and Cloudera Hadoop
- Experience of managing DB2 database on AWS – EC2 RHEL and AWS RDS is A plus
- Knowledge of AWS technologies, Terraform code and Jenkins is A plus
- Experience of Oracle/Cassandra/PostgreSQL is A plus
