Purpose: The Jr. Legal Entity Accounting (LEA) Analyst is responsible for supporting statutory and legal entity accounting activities, ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations and corporate policies. This role participates in the preparation of financial statements, audit support, account reconciliations, and analysis of accounting differences between US GAAP and BR GAAP. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, Tax, Controllership, and Finance teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of statutory reporting requirements. This position reports to the Legal Entity Accounting Supervisor.
You will be responsible for:
- Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with Brazilian accounting standards (BR GAAP).
- Assist in the analysis and documentation of accounting differences between US GAAP and BR GAAP.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Participate in internal and external audit processes, providing documentation, explanations, and follow-up on audit requests.
- Support compliance with statutory requirements, corporate accounting policies, and internal controls (including SOX controls when applicable).
- Prepare accounting analyses and supporting schedules for management and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Tax, Treasury, Business Unit Finance, and Shared Services, to resolve accounting matters.
- Assist in the preparation of technical accounting memos and documentation supporting financial reporting positions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting and accounting processes.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Sciences (Ciências Contábeis) or Finance is required.
- CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) certification is preferred.
- One to three (1-3) years of experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit is required.
- Experience in the preparation or review of financial statements is required.
- Knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards (BR GAAP) and basic understanding of US GAAP is preferred.
- Previous experience supporting external audits (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or similar firms) is preferred.
- Experience in a multinational environment or Shared Services Center is preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP is required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
