Red Hat is seeking a skilled Jira Administrator with 5+ years of experience to manage, configure, and optimize our Atlassian Cloud environment, including Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud. This individual will ensure system stability, implement best practices, support Agile project management and IT service management, and contribute to our ongoing migration from the Data Centre to the Cloud.

What You Will Do

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and other Atlassian tools

  • Manage Jira projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and permission schemes

  • Monitor and optimize Jira Cloud performance, conducting routine maintenance and cleanup

  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and automation using JQL and Automation for Jira

  • Implement integrations between Jira Cloud and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, and third-party plugins

  • Support end-users by troubleshooting issues, providing training, and documenting best practices

  • Work with development, IT, and Agile teams to tailor Jira Cloud configurations to meet business needs

  • Ensure data integrity, perform regular system audits, and manage Atlassian Cloud updates and changes

  • Create and enforce governance policies for Jira Cloud usage and standard operating procedures

  • Contribute to and support migration efforts from Jira/Confluence Data Centre to Atlassian Cloud

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Jira administration, including configuration and customization

  • Strong understanding of Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and Atlassian Organization management

  • Proficiency in JQL, scripting (Groovy, Python, or PowerShell), and automation within Jira

  • Experience with Jira plugins such as ScriptRunner, Rich Filters, EazyBI, and others

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ITSM processes

  • Experience integrating Jira Cloud with DevOps tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud issues

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively

  • Knowledge of Cloud-specific user management, permission schemes, and security best practices

  • Hands-on experience in migrating from Jira/Confluence Data Centre to Atlassian Cloud

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Atlassian Certifications (e.g., ACP-120: Jira Cloud Administration, ACP-520: Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin, ACP-100: Jira Administration for Data Centre,)

  • Experience with REST API integrations for Jira Cloud automation and data extraction

  • Understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM best practices

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Access and Organization-level administration

The salary range for this position is $77,520.00 - $124,020.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
