Summary
We are looking for a Policy/Billing Consultant to join our PS – GDC InsuranceSuite team in Kuala Lumpur, with a focus on BillingCenter (and potentially PolicyCenter over time). You will configure, extend, and integrate Guidewire applications to support our customers’ policy and billing operations.You will work closely with solution architects, business analysts, QA, and customer stakeholders to deliver high-quality implementations across APAC and global projects.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Configure and extend Guidewire BillingCenter (and/or PolicyCenter) using Guidewire configuration tools (e.g., Gosu, PCF, data model, business rules) following best practices.
Analyse business and functional requirements; collaborate with business analysts and architects to translate them into technical designs and configuration tasks.
Implement product, rating, billing, and account structures, as well as batch processes, jobs, and workflows needed for customer solutions.
Integrate BillingCenter/PolicyCenter with external systems (e.g., payment gateways, financial systems, customer portals) using web services / REST APIs in collaboration with Integration teams.
Participate in estimation, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives as part of an agile project team.
Investigate and resolve defects across development, SIT, UAT, and warranty phases; support performance and data-related troubleshooting as needed.
Prepare and maintain technical configuration documentation, mapping documents, and handover notes.
Follow Guidewire and project SurePath methodology, coding standards, and quality practices (e.g., code reviews, unit tests where applicable).
Collaborate closely with QA to clarify expected behaviour and support test case design and defect triage.

Required Qualifications & Experience
2–4 years of experience in software implementation, configuration, or development roles (preferably in enterprise or financial/insurance systems).
Hands-on experience in Java or similar object-oriented programming language; willingness to learn and work with Gosu.
Good understanding of relational databases and basic SQL.
Experience working with business rules, workflows, and/or configuration-driven systems.
Exposure to insurance or financial services domains (billing, policy admin, finance, or CRM) is strongly preferred.
Experience working in cross-functional, agile project teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English; able to work effectively with distributed teams and customer stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
Experience with:
Any Guidewire product (BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, or ClaimCenter).
Enterprise integration patterns and web services (SOAP/REST).
Cloud-based or SaaS implementations.
Understanding of P&C / General Insurance concepts (policies, coverages, premiums, invoices, payments, dunning, write-offs).
Prior consulting or customer-facing implementation experience.
