We are looking for a dedicated Java Backend Developer to become an integral part of our backend team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the backend systems that power our next-generation game franchises. You will work directly on the technology that supports gameplay, progression systems, and game economy, ensuring that our backend services are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.

Responsibilities:

• Be an essential part of the backend team, developing and maintaining the backend technology that powers our games.

• Implement and optimize scalable, high-performance backend services using Java.

• Develop key APIs for player progression and the in-game economy, ensuring smooth integration with game systems.

• Take ownership of backend services, working to improve existing codebases and architecture for long-term stability and performance.

• Contribute to the overall backend strategy, focusing on delivering stable, high-quality solutions.

• Operate within a DevOps environment where you monitor and manage the code you deploy to production.

Skills to Create Thrills:

• Proficiency in Java for backend development, with the ability to implement and maintain scalable systems.

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra, and experience working with large-scale backend infrastructure.

• Experience working in UNIX environments and using Git for version control.

• Familiarity with the Spring Framework for building, managing and securing backend services.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively within the backend core team and across departments.

• Passion for gaming, with the ability to contribute to fast-evolving, high-impact projects.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Gradle build systems.

• Familiarity with Jenkins or other CI systems for automation.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

• Exposure to C# and the Unity engine.
