Introduction
Our business is expanding quickly, and we are scaling the finance function accordingly.
Currently, we are looking for a Senior Accountant who will work closely with the EVP of Finance to support the monthly close, audit and tax compliance, and the improvement of core finance processes suitable for a high-growth startup environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys “building while running” — executing with precision while continuously improving workflows and financial operations over time.

Role & responsibilities:
In close collaboration with the EVP of Finance, you will support accurate and timely financial reporting across entities and contribute to the improvement of scalable accounting and management reporting processes.
In a fast-paced startup setting, success means delivering both speed and accuracy, proactively identifying gaps, and supporting the implementation of practical solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Depending on your experience, you will support and contribute to the following areas:
Financial Accounting / Closing
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process for all entities.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing schedules
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations (AP/expenses/payments/cash activities as needed)
- Work with the EVP of Finance to improve efficiency and shorten close timelines
Budgeting / Forecasting / Financial Modeling
- Support annual budget planning and rolling forecasts
- Support the preparation and maintenance of financial models (P&L / cash forecast / headcount planning, etc.)
- Help prepare structured financial reports and analyses to support management decision-making
Cost Accounting / Operational Finance Foundation
- Support basic cost tracking and cost allocation activities
- Support the EVP of Finance, as needed, in maintaining finance-related templates, documentation, and workflow guidelines appropriate for a scaling startup.
Audit Support
- Support external audits: prepare schedules, evidence, and respond to audit inquiries
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors under the guidance of the EVP of Finance to help address audit-related matters efficiently.
Tax Compliance Support
- Support tax compliance processes in collaboration with external tax advisors
- Assist in preparing data and documentation for corporate tax, consumption tax, withholding tax, and related filings

Desired Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Must Have)
- 5+ years of accounting experience in Japan (or equivalent)
- Solid experience owning monthly closing as the main person in charge
- Experience supporting audits (preparing documents, responding to questions, etc.)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial analysis)
- Business-level English communication skills (both written and verbal) to collaborate with global stakeholders (U.S. / India teams, auditors, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Startup / high-growth company experience
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling experience
- Cost accounting experience (especially related to hardware/manufacturing)
- Experience working in an international/cross-border environment (subsidiary reporting, consolidation, etc.)
- Experience in the semiconductor industry (or related deep-tech / hardware industry)
